Existing Health Disorders
If you have an Existing Health Disorder you will need to complete an Existing Health Disorders cover application form so we can assess if we are able to provide you with cover for that disorder. If you have a past or current medical condition at your date of departure, please read the following information, or call AIG Australia on 1800 017 682,
8 am - 6 pm EST for more information.
What is an Existing Health Disorder?
An Existing Health Disorder means any medical or dental condition of yours or any person on whose state of health Your Trip depends, which in the 30 days before You applied for this insurance:
  • required treatment, investigation, medication or advice from a doctor, chiropractor, physiotherapist, naturopath, psychiatrist or
  • which You are aware of, or could be expected to be aware of, that may lead to a claim under this policy.

It also means a chronic or on-going medical or dental condition.

Existing Health Disorder cover is only available in respect of medical conditions for persons insured under the insurance policy.

How do I apply for Existing Health Disorder cover?
If You wish to apply for Existing Health Disorder cover:

We will fairly assess application for Existing Health Disorders but cannot guarantee acceptance.

A separate fee of $60 will be charged to assess Your application for Existing Health Disorder cover. Payment can be made by Credit Card or by Cheque made payable to International SOS™.

Payment must be provided together with Your Existing Health Disorder cover application form. We will consider Your application and contact You as soon as possible to advise whether cover is available.

We may accept or decline Your application, offer restricted cover or require an additional premium payment. Policy cover for Existing Health Disorder cannot commence until We have reviewed the required information and advised acceptance of Our decision.

Your payment will not be processed until the Existing Health Disorder is accepted and the policy issued. If Your application is accepted, then the $60 assessment fee will be retained.

However, if Your Existing Health Disorder has been declined, We will advise You by letter, and confirm that payment has not been actioned. If payment has been made by cheque, the cheque will be returned.

Any Existing Health Disorder cover is limited to the term of the original policy.
